The Zealot S72 is a compact and affordable wireless speaker that offers a surprising number of features for its price point. After spending some time with it, I found that while it’s not perfect, it delivers solid value – especially for users who prioritize portability and convenience over booming bass.
Build Quality and Design
At first glance, the Zealot S72 looks modern and sleek. It comes in classic black and features subtle RGB lighting that adds a nice touch of color during playback. The build quality is good – nothing feels loose or fragile, and the buttons are responsive. It’s clear that some attention was given to durability.
However, one minor issue is that the surface of the speaker tends to attract fingerprints and smudges. If you’re someone who likes to keep your devices clean and tidy, you may find yourself wiping it down more often than you’d like.
Sound Quality
The sound performance is decent, though clearly tailored for general-purpose use rather than audiophile listening. The highs and mids come through clearly and make vocals and instruments sound fairly natural. Podcasts, audiobooks, and casual music listening all sound pleasant on this speaker.
Where the speaker falls short is in the low-end bass response. The bass is noticeably weak, which might disappoint listeners who enjoy hip-hop, EDM, or bass-heavy genres. One of the most impressive features of the Zealot S72 is its Bluetooth 5.3 connection. It offers a stable and extended wireless range. In open spaces, I was able to keep a connection with my phone in my pocket up to about 20 meters. When the phone wasn’t obstructed (e.g. sitting on a table), the range was even greater.
In an apartment of around 55 square meters, the speaker maintained a strong connection no matter where I moved. That kind of coverage is more than sufficient for everyday indoor use – even with a few walls in between.
Battery Performance
With a 3000mAh battery, the S72 delivers respectable battery life. I used it over several sessions for a total of a few hours, and I didn’t have to recharge it yet. The advertised playback time is around 5 hours, which seems accurate based on my experience. For casual use throughout the day, the battery will more than suffice.
